Course Description

Another year has come and almost gone. Before the official end of the year, now is the time to begin thinking of year-end compliance responsibilities for your business-owner clients. Failure to submit reports and forms on time can result in fines, penalties, and even suspension or dissolution of a business. All of which you want to avoid at all costs for your clients! In this session, Nellie Akalp of corpnet.com, will detail steps necessary for a business to end the year in good legal standing.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify annual corporation documents, such as annual meeting minutes and Articles of Amendment

  • Define how dissolving an inactive business before a new year can relieve your clients of formation requirements that next year

  • Outline the importance of properly protecting intellectual properties with a trademark, copyright, or patent

  • Recognize the steps needed to set up payroll taxes for entrepreneurs looking to hire their first employees in the new year
